Lights dim against a sea of jet black suits and designer dresses, lights flashing against an interior of velvet and teak; the epitome of elegance, utter sophistication – VERDICT: First Class
On the 26th of January, the very foundations of the Vogue Lounge shook as the fifth installment of vERdict rocked the halls of the Palladium Club at the New World Hotel in Makati. Packed from end to end with students from the premier institutions of medicine and law in the country as the clock struck 8, the music never stopped playing and the drinks never stopped flowing until the wee hours of the morning. At around 10 in the evening, what already was an intense atmosphere went completely ballistic as Jonik Antonio Φ 2012 and Teri Marcelo from the Regina Iustitiae performed a short hosting segment that ended with the hallowed drinking game that has since been a vERdict tradition. Pitting students of medicine against those of law, it need not be said that much was in the balance. Despite spirited efforts from Harvey Beza Φ 2012, Sis Pat Asuncion Φ 2011, and representatives from the Sigma Beta Tau Phi Fraternity, the Filiae Aesculapii Sorority, and the Alpha Delta Mu Sorority, law triumphed over medicine, earning them bragging rights for the year. The party then returned to its original tempo, as Tanduay, Mixed Mobile Bar, and the main bar of the Vogue Lounge dished out drinks that just kept on going. The fifth installment of vERdict finally came to a close at around 3 in the morning, instilling in guests much yearning for next year’s event.
Made possible through the efforts of our co-presentor, the Regina Iustitiae Sorority of the Ateneo Law School, as well as those of our partners, the Sigma Beta Tau Phi Fraternity and the Alpha Delta Mu Sorority of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Filiae Aesculapii of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay School of Medicine, the Sigma Rho Fraternity and the Delta Lambda Sigma Sorority of the UP College of Law, the Gamma Delta Epsilon Fraternity of the UST Faculty of Civil Law, and the Baliklaya from the Ateneo de Manila University, this latest installment was organized for the benefit of Gawad Kalinga and the Ateneo Blue Plate.
