Continuing the PHI tradition of service, the loyal sons of the Phi Kappa Mu together with the sisses of the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority traveled all the way to the beautiful island of Boracay for the annual Summer Medical Caravan. Last May 7-10, 2014 was a time not only for recreation but also for learning and reaching out to the different communities in Boracay and Aklan.
This is the sixteenth straight year that sis Dr. Cristina Alindogan Teotico Ching Φ ’92 has graciously hosted the Boracay surgical missions which were held at Barangays Yapac, Manocmanoc, and Motag in partnership with the Metropolitan Doctors Medical Clinic and Centro Escolar University Dental Alumni Association.
Almost 300 patients were given free surgical services by brods Ace Robert Bañas Alfabeto Φ ’09, Apolinario Estrellado Esquivel III Φ ’09, Joseff Karl Uy Fernandez Φ ’09, Richmond Paul Enriquez Goce Φ ’09, Jayson Cabalag Panganiban Φ ’09, Mark Joseph Mendoza Abaca Φ ’11, and Jose Jaime Lorenzo Claudio De Rivera Φ ’12 and sisses Karla Teresa Araneta Φ ’09, Ma. Corazon Cabanilla Φ ’09, Shayne Fajutagana Φ ’09, Janna Elyza Olivera Φ ’09, Julianne Francesca Reyes Φ ’09, Gienah Evangelista Φ ’12, Natasha Bernadine Abela Φ ’13, and Samantha Jiselle Siahetiong Φ ’13.
While the brods and sisses attended to patients in the morning, they all had the time to unwind and enjoy the island with each other during the evening. Surely the brods and sisses will never tire of giving free medical services to communities all over the Philippines for the summers to come. All for PHI!
