Excellence, leadership, service, and brotherhood – these are the four guiding pillars of which the Fraternity of the College of Medicine embodies. Excellence that knows no boundaries. Leadership that breeds heroes. Service that seeks no glory. Brotherhood that is forever strong. WIth these guiding pillars in mind, the Executive Council was formed.
Jose Mayo Villanueva Viray Φ 2017 is the Junior Guardian of the Temple. The one who is entrusted with fraternity’s logistic needs and is looked up on by the youngest brothers. Mayo is more than qualified for the job. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the College of Public Health, University of the Philippines – Manila, Mayo had also served as the 2016 Batch Representative. The lowest of the Executive Council, Mayo exemplifies leadership that knows how to follow.
Manuel Angelo Terania Griño Φ2017 is the Brother Recorder. He will be the the witness and the agent of history of the fraternity. He is in charge to record each brother’s merit and the Fraternity’s merit in general so that all will wish to emulate them. Gio graduated with a degree of B.S. Public Health as Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines Manila. Not only is he talented in graphic arts but in acting and singing as well. He has played as the main actor during the Class 2021 Mediscene performance. Truly a well-rounded person, Gio is no doubt the person fit for the responsibility of a Brother Recorder.
Edroico Mari Beltran Brillante Φ2015 is the Senior Guardian of the Temple and represents the pillar of service. He is responsible for the service arm of the fraternity, the PAGKALMA or the Pagkalinga sa Kalusugan ng Mamamayan. During his first year in the fraternity, Oico has been advocating Mental Health Awareness and is one of the most passionate brothers when it comes to advocacies of the Fraternity. He served as the head of the Alternative Classroom Learning Experience on Mental Health last March and promises to continue to advocate mental health as it is gaining more awareness. Passionate and truly oriented to service, these are Oico’s strongest suits, which I truly admire.
Niel Benjamin dela Torre Kho Φ2015 is the Brother Scribe and is the voice of the Fraternity. Benjo, as he is known, actively contributes his own articles to the UP Medics, the official publication of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, and is the incoming Editor-in-Chief. Representation and maintaining the image of the fraternity is his job. Imbued with talents in music and literature, Benjo is sure to take the Fraternity to greater heights.
Victor Cesar Inciong Ubaldo Φ2015 is the Brother Custodian who is responsible for the Fraternity’s finances. A Bachelor of Science degree holder in economics, graduating as Magna Cum Laude graduate from the School of Economics in the University of Philippines – Diliman, Quezon City. Clearly, there is no other brod more qualified and more suited for the job. In a sea of similar skills, his is truly one of a kind.
Manuel Sabalo Vidal Jr. Φ2014 is the Fraternity’s Venerable Preceptor and is the bridge of the Fraternity to its older brothers. Manuel, a biochemistry graduate, graduated valedictorian of his batch at DLSU and is only the second Lasallian to get into UPCM’s illustrious MD-PhD program. Manuel is also known for placing 2nd in the September 2014 Chemistry board exams. Manuel has also served the Fraternity previously as Brother Prior to Phi Batch 2017, Juggernauts.
Frinz Moey Caunes Rubio Φ2015 is the Standard Bearer of the Fraternity and is the brother entrusted to exemplify excellence and inspire other brothers to do the same. Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from the University of the Philippines – Manila as Magna Cum Laude, Frinz proves that excellence is no nothing new to him. He has also been awarded as a college scholar during his first year in medical school and is currently ranked #2 in his class. Frinz also proves that he is not only academically excellent as he has served the Fraternity as its Brother Recorder, where he is known to produce quality pictures and publicity materials.
Regalado Isagani Legaspi Jose Φ2015 is the Brother Prior and is tasked with preserving the most important pillar, brotherhood. Reggie graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of the Phillippines – Manila. He is an avid fan of basketball and is actively participating in the basketball tournaments held by the College and the University. A person who gets along with everyone, Reggie has no problem with interaction and communication, qualities that granted him the extremely coveted position.
Edmond Rodiel Bries Φ2014 is the Vice Superior Exemplar, who serves directly under the Superior Exemplar. Edmond is from the INTARMED program of the College of Medicine. Edmond has intimate knowledge of the workings of the Fraternity such as event logistics and financial management as he was the previous Brother Custodian. His immense foresight is one of his strengths that the Fraternity will depend on during his term as the Vice Superior Exemplar.
Kevin Romeo Sangel Lucas Φ2013 is the Fraternity’s Superior Exemplar and is the ideal embodiment of the Fraternity’s four pillars. Kevin proves his excellence stretches beyond the field of academics as the captain of the UPCM Men’s Basketball Team. Kevin’s exemplifies his brand of service when helping the Fraternity in its various service endeavors. Kevin is also a natural leader, a former Gerry Roxas Leadership Awardee and has served the Fraternity as a former Junior Guardian of the Temple where he has shown his leadership capabilities. Kevin’s brotherhood is also special to the Fraternity as he served as its Brother Prior to Phi Batch 2015, Stormtroopers.
Behold, the newest batch of the Executive Council. Hailing from the most venerable fold, these proud men were chosen to uphold and exemplify the four pillars of the Phi Kappa Mu.
