Last August 29 2012 the Phi Kappa Mu fraternity once again gathered together to celebrate its strong 79 years of existence. The anniversary mass was celebrated in the Philippine General Hospital Chapel and the accompanying dinner took place at the Robinsons’ Place Residences.
The dinner was sumptuous and the beer cold and sweet, perfect for a night of camaraderie, brotherhood and catching up on what the fraternity is up to. The fraternity, led by Jose Castillo Gonzales φ‘69A , Manuel Bautista Agulto φ‘69A and Jose Jonas Dino Del Rosario φ‘86, discussed the matter of the Phi House with the guests from the Phi Lambda Sorority. The Phi Kappa Mu’s partner sorority is a part of the Phi House’s planning. The discussion was followed by the Vice Superior Exemplar Jose Antonio Tan Paulino’s φ 2009 report on the year that was, accompanied by a video on the year’s activities. Afterwards the Senior Guardian of the Temple Kim Paolo Lugtu Lorenzo φ 2010 also reported the several service activities that the fraternity has organized and conducted for the past year.
As we are celebrating the 79th year, the fraternity is starting its preparations for the big 80th year. John Faustine Danan Gutierrez φ 2008B, the head of the AdHoc Committee on the 80th year, presented the timeline of the planned activities.
To close the activity, the Venerable Preceptor, Joseff Karl Uy Fernandez φ 2009 acknowledged the Alumni Present in the celebration. The night ended traditionally with the singing of the fraternity song.
Three cheers to Kevin Ivan Penaverde Chan φ 2011 and Joseff Karl Uy Fernandez φ 2009 for organizing the very successful Anniversary Mass and Dinner.
