Vice Superior Exemplar Mark Mujer '10 leads the brods in handing out relief goods to evacuees

In light of the recent damage that Typhoon "Maring" (international name: "Trami") has caused, the Phi Kappa Mu Fraternity, along with other organizations from all over the Philippines, have initiated relief efforts to extend help to those most affected by the typhoon. A nation held prostrate by the whiplash of the torrential rains deserves nothing but the utmost from her people.

On the 20th of August, the Fraternity delivered much needed supplies, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, to more than a hundred families at the rather inaccessible Baseco Evacuation Center located in Barangay 649 of the 5th District of the City of Manila. The resident brods, braving the heavy flooding in the vicinity of Ermita, distributed relief packages with the help of a detachment of emergency-response units from the Philippine Army.

The first of a series of incursions that include other relief sites, the Fraternity is still accepting donations through multiple media. Donors are encouraged to give drinking water and instant noodles in accordance with the evacuation center's needs.
