Continuing the PHI tradition of service, the loyal sons of the Phi Kappa Mu together with the sisses of the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority traveled all the way to the beautiful island of Boracay for the annual Summer Medical Caravan. Last May 7-10, 2014 was a time not only for recreation but also for learning and reaching out to the different communities in Boracay and Aklan.

This is the sixteenth straight year that sis Dr. Cristina Alindogan Teotico Ching Φ ’92 has graciously hosted the Boracay surgical missions which were held at Barangays Yapac, Manocmanoc, and Motag in partnership with the Metropolitan Doctors Medical Clinic and Centro Escolar University Dental Alumni Association.

Almost 300 patients were given free surgical services by brods Ace Robert Bañas Alfabeto Φ ’09, Apolinario Estrellado Esquivel III Φ ’09, Joseff Karl Uy Fernandez Φ ’09, Richmond Paul Enriquez Goce Φ ’09, Jayson Cabalag Panganiban Φ ’09, Mark Joseph Mendoza Abaca Φ ’11, and Jose Jaime Lorenzo Claudio De Rivera Φ ’12 and sisses Karla Teresa Araneta Φ ’09, Ma. While the brods and sisses attended to patients in the morning, they all had the time to unwind and enjoy the island with each other during the evening. Surely the brods and sisses will never tire of giving free medical services to communities all over the Philippines for the summers to come. All for PHI!

In the morning of April 14, 2014, brods and sisses left Manila for their annual road trip to Pangasinan. Everyone arrived at the Villaflor Hospital in Dagupan at around noon to meet with brod Zenaides Tactay Wi Φ1972 before having lunch at Jech’s Bakeshop and Restaurant. Brod Jose Antonio Maximiano Regalado Escano Φ 1992 also attended the lunch.

After lunch, everyone took a trip to El Puerto Marina Resort in Lingayen to book rooms and enjoy each other’s company on the beach. Brods and sisses alike bonded over football and other games and stayed just long enough to watch the sun setting below the horizon.

Dinner was then served at Am-Am’s Steakhouse in Dagupan, where our alumni brods Zenaides Tactay Wi Φ1972, Generoso Deloso Torres Φ1972, and Jose Antonio Maximiano Regalado Escano Φ1992 shared various stories of their time as part of the resident body.
