Last August 2014, it came as no surprise as nine out of the nine medical board exam takers from the Phi Kappa Mu passed with flying colors, exemplifying the Fraternity’s Cardinal Virtue of Excellence. The fraternity would like to congratulate these Loyal sons, imbued with PHI values throughout their medical school life, as they formally took the Hippocratic Oath last October 4.

Dr. Mark Willis Lim Malaki, Φ2008B

Mark is a familiar cheerful face even in times of distress on a typical Emergency Room stint. He finished his undergrad, BS Psychology in UP Diliman. He is passionate about videogames. With a knack for business, he aspires to pursue entrepreneurship after medicine, as well as Medical Informatics.

Dr. Ace Robert Bańas Alfabeto, Φ2009

Ace is the musician of the batch, and has shown off his mad guitar skills in many events of the Fraternity. A BS Public Health graduate of UP West Visayas, he has held Executive Council positions in the Fraternity, as the Brother Recorder and Brother Scribe. He will pursue General Surgery.

Dr. Apolinario Estrellado Esquivel III, Φ2009

An avid partygoer, a fashion aficionado, Jay is best recognized for his funny antics and lively persona at every party he’s in.  Also the ladies’ man of the batch, he enjoys best drinking out with Phi. He finished BS Psychology in UP Diliman. Dr. Esquivel plans to pursue Surgery as his specialization.

Dr. Richmond Paul Enriquez Goce, Φ2009

A natural multitasker—that’s how Monchi is described best. He has shown his dedication to the fraternity when he served as the Fraternity’s Junior Guardian of the Temple as well as Standard Bearer. He excels in basketball as well, and has a knack for baking. A graduate of Molecular Biology from UP Diliman, he plans to pursue General Surgery.

Dr. Joseff Karl Uy Fernandez, Φ2009

The top shot of the batch, Karl excels in competitive shooting as well as basketball. With his excellent financial and communication skills, he has effectively served as the Fraternity's Brother Custodian and Venerable Preceptor. With his stellar academic performance, this UP Diliman biology graduate plans to become a neurosurgeon.

Dr. Mark Rosario Manzano, Φ2009

Don’t let Mark Manazo's silent demeanor fool you: he excels in basketball and has a deep passion for service as well. He graduated from UP Los banos with a BS Biology. He plans to pursue a career in Family Medicine.

Dr. Pocholo Ińigo Bleza Morales, Φ2009

A BS INTARMED graduate, Dr. Morales loves travelling and learning new languages. He spends his free time swimming, playing tennis and football.  He has appeared in quite a few indie movies as well. He will specialize in Orthopedics.

Dr. Jayson Cabalag Panganiban, Φ2009

THE performer of the batch. A graduate of BS biology from UP Manila, Dr. Panganiban has a passion for singing and dancing. Young and promising at 25, Dr. Panganiban will pursue plastic surgery.

Dr. Jose Antonio Tan Paulino, Φ2009

As the Superior Exemplar for 2013-2014, Dr. Paulino truly is a fanatical Phi. He has served both as the fraternity’s venerable preceptor as well as Vice Superior Exemplar. With a passion for photography, it is fitting that this BS Public Health graduate of UP Manila plans to enter ophthalmology residency this year.

Congratulations, Brods! All for PHI!
